2025 Will Have you Shifting from Reverse to DRIVE
After a slow start, 2025 will be in full gear by June.
Although 2025 will get off to a muddy, murky start, by the second half of the year you’ll be going at warp speed. Jupiter, Saturn, and the nodes Rahu and Ketu will all switch signs over a 3-month period in the spring, thrusting us well into a fresh new phase of life by June. Whatever you’ve been experiencing over the past two years will be coming to a close, and a new chapter will begin.
Mars has been doing a long transit between Gemini and Cancer since the summer, which continues through January. If the new year doesn’t seem so “fresh,” this is partly why. You’re still working through life situations that began in the summer, and will continue to do so while Mars works its way backwards through Cancer and then Gemini through February 23rd. When Mars goes direct February 23rd, you’ll start to see progress and close out this area of your life all the way through April 2nd when Mars finally leaves Gemini. Mars usually only stays in a sign six or seven weeks, so this transit through Gemini from last August through April 2025 has been unusually long. You’ve really had to dig in and work something out in the area Gemini rules in your chart.
April will be a five-star month and I mean that figuratively and literally—there will be a stellium (3 or more planets in a sign) of five planets in the sign Pisces for most of the month. This places a huge amount of emphasis on Pisces, which rises to a fever pitch when Saturn conjuncts Rahu at 2 degrees from April 16th through April 24th. Saturn have just stepped foot in the sign Pisces on March 30th, having just left a 2 1/2 -year transit through Aquarius, so we’ll all be adjusting to a new shift of life concerns, opportunities, and general feeling of transition right April starts. If you are a Pisces Ascendant or Pisces Moon, please mark April as an extremely sensitive time when you might feel overwhelmed as you adjust to the intense pile-up of energy in your sign. If you are a Pisces Moon, then this marks the beginning of the second phase of your sade sati which I talk about here. Since Mercury is debilitated in Pisces, and is one of the planets forming this stellium, we’ll all be feeling more emotional than usual and our powers of clarity of perception and discernment will be low.
As we leave April and the dust settles from the earthquakes in Pisces, May will bring the second part of the year’s shift: Jupiter will transit into Gemini on May 15th and Rahu and Ketu will transit into Aquarius and Leo two weeks later on May 30th. Jupiter has been in Taurus since April 2024, and Rahu and Ketu have been in Pisces and Virgo since October 2023. So whatever you’ve been experiencing since the fall of 2023 Pisces and Virgo in particular will be coming to a close then. As you can see, Pisces in particular has been going through a lot and April will be a raucous, grand finale.
Regarding eclipses, we’ll have four this year:
March 13, 2024: Lunar eclipse (total) at 29 degrees Leo in the nakshatra Uttara Phalguni
March 29, 2024: Solar eclipse (partial) at 14 degrees Pisces in the nakshatra Uttara Bhadrapada
September 7, 2024: Lunar eclipse (total) at 21 degrees Aquarius in the nakshatra Purva Bhadrapada
September 21, 2024: Solar eclipse (partial) at 4 degrees Virgo in the nakshatra Uttara Phalguni
So March and September will be the “electric” months where life events happen that push you into the next phase. I’ll write more about the eclipses in the months prior to them.
Here’s a short overview of what to expect in 2025, according to your Ascendant:

Saturn’s transit into your 12th house will have you becoming more reclusive. You’ll be reflecting on the past, and, on a practical level, restructuring your finances to take care of debts and losses. You’re more focused on your security and achievement and how you are viewed by the world. You’ll be more conservative with your resources—both financial and personal. You may feel more sober and melancholic, but this is in service of placing you in the frame of mind to work towards achievement. Fortunately, Jupiter’s concurrent transit in the 4th, will give you some inner contentment and your mother or maternal figures in your life will provide support. Rahu’s transit in the 12th will agitate sleep and your subconscious—your dreams may feel “hyper-real.” Rahu fosters illusion so be careful what you believe. You may feel more inclined to retreat (think ashrams, foreign travel, time alone). Go for it—Rahu will give insight.
